9/23 Monday

1. Warm-Up-In your Norman Language Arts google doc, answer the following question. Make sure to date your post, fully explain your answer, and use complete sentences.


2. Weekly Vocabulary-Once again, your Weekly Vocabulary comes from our class novel. Take a few minutes and get to know these words.

3. Weekly Vocabulary 3-2-1- Your weekly vocabulary assignment is to complete a Vocabulary 3-2-1 on the 7 vocab. words from this week.  The assignment is due Friday and must be completed on paper.  Remember:

3x -- Spelling (writing the word)
2x -- Definition (write the definition)
1x -- Use correctly in a sentence (create your own sentence)


4. Active Notes/Close Reading-Let's take a look at some good and bad examples of Active Notes. You guys are going to be using our E, G, S, N, and U grading system to grade some of your classmates Active Notes skills.

5. Class Novel-Let's see how Ponyboy is going to get out of the mess he is in!

6. Independent Reading-Grab your library book and relax! It's time for some Independent Reading.

7. Social Studies Warm-Up-Answer the following question.

Have you ever heard the word reformation before? If you have, what do you remember about the definition? If you have never heard the word, take a guess about what you think it means.

8. Reformation-Go to the following website. Read the information and make sure you take GOOD notes. When you have finished, we'll discuss.

9. Reformation Reporter-A reporter's main job is to get answers to questions. You are going to spend the next few days researching the Reformation. You will then answer, on a blank sheet of paper, the following questions:

WHAT-What was the Reformation? Be sure to fully explain your answers.

WHO-Pick 4 important people from the Reformation. Tell me who they were and why they were important to the Reformation.

WHEN-Pick and explain at least 3 important dates from the Reformation. Explain why the dates you chose are important to the Reformation.

HOW-Explain in detail how the Reformation started. What happened before that led to this movement?

WHY-Why did this movement happen? Why was it so important to the world? Why is it still important?

WHERE-What were some of the important locations of the Reformation?
