9/12 Thursday

1. Article Review-Read the following article. After reading, write a quick review of the article on a blank piece of paper.  Your review should answer the following questions:

-Did you like the article? Explain your answer

-Was the article informative? Explain your answer

Also, create two E.O.G style questions about the article.


2. Awesome or Lame-Watch the video below and send me an email letting me know your thoughts. Be sure to explain your answers. Your email should contain complete sentences and proper grammar. Remember to use your headphones.



3. Vocabulary-Take a few minutes and study those words!

5. Outsiders Journal-Being able to predict what might happen next in a story is a sign of a good reader. Even though we haven't started our book, make some predictions in your Outsiders Google doc about what you think might happen based on the cover and the description below. Who knows....you may be right! Remember to always write in complete sentences!

Ponyboy is fourteen, tough and confused  yet sensitive beneath his bold front. Since his parent's death, his loyalties have been to his brothers and his gang, the rough, swinging, long haired boys from the wrong side of the tracks. When his best friend kills a member of a rival gang, a nightmare of violence begins and swiftly envelops Ponyboy in a turbulent chain of events. 

6. Grammar Fixer-Upper-  Please read the following paragraph.  It contains many grammar and spelling errors.  Please copy and paste it into an email, fixing all the mistakes.  Send the correct email to me.  Your subject in the your email should be number- name-title.

     The RiverTowne Players is starting a Young Actors Academy to their Rising Stars Youh Program? The Academy will offerrr an after-school class that will Train children ages 5 to 15 in musical theater. for three hours each Monday — 5 to 8 p.m. — there will be instruction in acting, dance and voice.  The first semester begins Monday, with classes continuing through Decemdber 10. a showcase performance is set for the end of the semester, which will include all the participants of the academy?  The fee is $25 per, weekly, session. The classes will be held in RiverTowne’s performing arts home, the historic Masonic Theatre on hancock Street.

After watching the video on the 9/11 attacks, what do you know now that you did not know before? Have any of your opinions or ideas about the attacks changed? Why? Be sure to answer in complete sentences!

8. Renaissance- Today we will review and move forward!
