2/10 Tuesday

1. Warm-Up-Creative Writing- Look at the following picture. Write a quick short story about the picture. Be creative! The mood for your story should be creepy.


2. Weekly Vocabulary-We are going to do our vocabulary a bit different this week. You have a set of words like normal and you will be quizzed on them, but fortunately you will not have a weekly project. Your set is here . Take a few minutes to look it over.

3. Class Novel-Today we are going to read a piece of informational text that ties in with our novel.

4. Poetry-You will read a short poem and answer 5 questions. We will discuss when everyone has finished.

5. Coach Lesson 3-Keep working on our newest lesson.

6. NC Write-Your new prompt is titled "The Importance of Music." Your essay should be at least 176 words.

7. Channel One-We are going to watch Channel One news. Afterwards, you are to got to your Social Studies google doc and answer the following questions about the newscast. Remember to use complete sentences, and fully explain your answers.

1. What were the stories on today's newscast?

2. Which story did you find most interesting?

3. What was interesting about this story?

8.  History Research-This week you are going to be flexing those research muscles and writing a research paper. You are going to pick one thing that you absolutely love, and then you are going to research that thing. You will need to find out who created your item, when and where it was created and any other important information you can think of. You will then need to take that information and write a 300 word research essay on Google docs.

2/9 Monday

1. Warm-Up-In your Norman Language Arts Google doc, answer the following question. Make sure to date your post, fully explain your answer, and use complete sentences.


2. Poetry Pretest-Good news! This week we will be beginning our unit on poetry! First things first, we are going to take a quick poetry pre-test.

7. Black History Month-February is Black History Month. To celebrate, we will look at prominent African Americans and examine their impact on history.

3. ReadTheory-Use this time to work on the website ReadTheory

4 Coach Lesson 1-We will use this time to review our Vocabulary Coach Lesson. 

5 Coach Lesson 2-It is time to turn in your Main Idea Lesson.

6 Scope-Now we will do one last worksheet from our newest article. When we finish, we will discuss.

1. Article Review-Read the following article. After reading, write a quick review of the article in your Language Arts Google doc. Your review should answer the following questions:

-What was the topic of the article?

-What was the article's main idea? Supporting details?

-What was one thing about the article that you found fascinating? Explain your answer

-Create one E.O.G style question about the article.

2. Class Novel-Today we are going to read chapter 4 of our novel and add to our Reader's Notes Chart. 

3. Coach-I am going to review Lesson 1 and then give time to work on Lesson 2.

4. Scope-Lets get back to our newest article.

5. Benchmark Review-Time to continue reviewing the Benchmark.

1. Warm-Up-In your Norman Language Arts Google doc, answer the following question. Make sure to date your post, fully explain your answer, and use complete sentences.



2. Benchmark Review-Lets start looking at our recent Benchmark in greater detail.

3. Class Novel-
We are going to review the questions from chapter 3 of our class novel.

4. Scope
-Lets do some pre-reading on our new article.

5. Coach-Time to finish Lesson 1.

6. ReadTheory-If you are finished with your Coach packet, then you can work on ReadTheory.org.

7. Enlightenment Reporter-A reporter's main job is to get answers to questions. You are going to spend the next few days researching the Age of Enlightenment. You will then answer, on a blank sheet of paper, the following questions:

WHAT-What was the Age of Enlightenment? Be sure to fully explain your answers.

WHO-Pick 4 important people from the Enlightenment. Tell me who they were and why they were important to the Enlightenment.

WHEN-Pick and explain at least 3 important dates from the Enlightenment. Explain why the dates you chose are important to the Enlightenment.

HOW-Explain in detail how the Enlightenment started. What happened before that led to this movement?

WHY-Why did this movement happen? Why was it so important to the world? Why is it still important?

WHERE-What were some of the important locations of the Enlightenment?

8. Age of Enlightenment Timeline-You are to go this timeline and read about the events of the Age of Enlightenment. Once you have read the information, send me an email titled "Enlightenment Events". In the email list and explain in your own words 5 events that happened during the Age of Enlightenment.
