1. Warm-Up-In your Norman Language Arts Google doc, answer the following question. Make sure to date your post, fully explain your answer, and use complete sentences.

2. Poetry Pretest-Good news! This week we will be beginning our unit on poetry! First things first, we are going to take a quick poetry pre-test.

3. Weekly Vocabulary-We are going to do our vocabulary a bit different this week. You have a set of words like normal and you will be quizzed on them, but fortunately you will not have a weekly project. Your set is here . Take a few minutes to look it over.

4. Class Novel-We are going to answer some questions from Chapter 4 

5. Main Idea-We will go over our Lesson 2 packet and begin working on Lesson 3

6. NC Write-Time permitting, we will begin our newest prompt.

7. Black History Month-February is Black History Month. To celebrate, we will look at prominent African Americans and examine their impact on history.



Today we will look at John Coltrane . Go to each of the links here, here, andhere and use the information to answer the following questions in a new Google doc titled "Black History Month". Answer each question using complete sentences.

1. Who was this person?

2. When and where did they live?

3. Why were they so important?

4. What are some interesting facts about this person?

8. History Research-This week you are going to be flexing those research muscles and writing a research paper. You are going to pick one thing that you absolutely love, and then you are going to research that thing. You will need to find out who created your item, when and where it was created and any other important information you can think of. You will then need to take that information and write a 300 word research essay on Google docs.
