2. Article Review-Read the following link . After reading, write a quick review of the article in your Norman Language Arts Google doc. Your review should answer the following questions:

-Did you like the article? Explain your answer.

-Was the article informative? Explain your answer.

Also, create two E.O.G style questions about the article.

3. Weekly Vocabulary-Here are your weekly vocabulary words. They are all tone/mood words that a writer might use to set the feel of a story.

4. Vocabulary Crossword-We are going to use our words to create a crossword puzzle. We have done this before and I expect the results to be better than the first time. Remember to write your clues on the back of your paper. Your clues should be challenging but not impossible. Here is a reminder of what a crossword puzzle should look like.


5. Class Novel-We will be taking our final Outsiders quiz on Friday! Grab a copy of the book and get reading. If you have finished, use this time to review and study!

6. Poetry-We barely got started on poetry before we had our snow days. Let's review what we discussed on Monday and then we will be introduced to several different types of poems. Here are my slides. Be sure to visit the links in the last slide for some more types of poetry.

7. Black History Month-February is Black History Month. To celebrate, we will look at prominent African Americans and examine their impact on history.




Today we will look at John Coltrane . Go to each of the links here, here, and here and use the information to answer the following questions in a new Google doc titled "Black History Month". Answer each question using complete sentences.

3. Why were they so important?

4. What are some interesting facts about this person?

1.Warm-Up-In your Norman Language Arts Google doc, answer the following question. Make sure to date your post, fully explain your answer, and use complete sentences.

1. Free Rice-It's Friday so that means it is Free Rice time. Maybe Mr. Norman will hand out some Cane Bucks....

3. Comic Strips-If you have not finished those strips, then take some time now to finish them up.

5. Comic Strips-I hope you guys remember the comic strip we looked at a few weeks ago. It was the one with Arthur and the sword. Using that strip as an example, you are going to create 5 Outsiders comic strips. Your strips should be a scene from the book. You must also list the setting, characters, conflict, plot, and important events from each strip. We will discuss this assignment more in class.

1. Snow Days-Wow that was a lot of fun! My son had an awesome time and really played hard in the snow. I want you guys to send me an email titled "Snow Days." In this email I want you to list and describe the 3 most awesome things you did or that happened to you over your break. Make sure to write in complete sentences and provide lots of good details.
