1. Game Time-Let's get the day started with some games. NEW GAME ALERT! We have a new game that I want everyone to try. It's called Sentence Unscramble. (Make sure your volume is turned down!)

2. Homework Review-We will use this time to review last night's homework. 

3. Summary-Today we will be beginning our unit on summarizing.

4. Summarizing-Today we are going to start a lesson on summarizing written passages. This will be extremely important for your future as successful readers. Now, do the following steps (Be sure to TAKE GOOD NOTES!):

a. Watch the two videos on summarizing. Be prepared to discuss.

b .Go to the following website and review their tips on summarizing.

5. Scope-Let's get going on our new Scope article.

6. Social Studies Warm-Up-Answer the following question in your Norman Social Studies Google doc.

How well can you read a map? Have you ever had to use a map to find something? Explain your answers.

7. Explorer's Map-Today you are going to continue working on a map which will trace the routes and give the reasons for exploration of 6 different explorers. These maps will need to be bright, colorful, and detailed!

Your map should include:
-Explorer's name
-Country they came from
-Route they took
-Years of their expedition
-Reason for expedition
