10/14 Tuesday

1. Warm-Up-Creative Writing: Look at the following picture. In your Language Arts Google doc, write a quick short story about the picture. Be creative and try to include some of your weekly vocabulary words.

2.Weekly Vocabulary-Take a look at your new words. Once again, these are tone/mood words and are used by authors to set the feel of the story that they are writing.

3. 7x7x7-
This week, we will be using our words to create a 7x7x7. This works just like 5x5x5 except you use two more words. Here are the directions:

*Directions: Write each word and its definition seven times. When finished, create a paragraph with at least seven sentences that uses all seven words correctly. Make sure to underline the vocabulary words in your created paragraph.

4. Small Group-Get with your small groups and complete a main idea assignment.

5. Scope-We will hopefully begin our next Scope article.

6. NC Write-Continue working on the "Who Am I" prompt.

7. Social Studies Warm-Up- First, go to this link  and read Christopher Columbus's quote about the natives he encountered. Next, answer the following question in your Norman Social Studies Google doc.

Now that we know more about the real story of Columbus, do you think he was more of a hero or a villain? Fully explain your answers.

8. Columbus Day-Head over to this link and follow along as we make our way through a timeline of Columbus's journey. Each section will contain a question which you will need to answer in a new Google doc titled "Columbus Journal." Copy and paste the question into your new Google doc, and then answer the question using complete sentences. Make sure you answer every part of the question. Make sure you date each post (use the date of that is on the timeline.)

9. Columbus Quiz-Head over to this site and read the 10 things you may not know about Columbus. Afterwards, you are to use the site to create a 15 question true or false quiz about the information found on the site. Make sure your questions are in complete sentences and make sure to include an answer key.
