9/1 Tuesday

1. Warm-Up-Creative Writing: Look at the following picture. In your Language Arts Google doc., write a quick short story about the picture. Be creative and try to include some of your weekly vocabulary words.

2. Weekly Vocabulary-Take this time to review your Weekly Vocabulary. Play some games and learn at the same time! This time can also be used to work on your Weekly Vocabulary Assignment.

3. Noun Review-Let's see how well you remember our Noun lesson.

4. Noun Activity-It's time for a noun activity.

5. Standards-We are going to take a few minutes to go over the you will learn this year.

6. Scope- We are going to read our first Scope article. We will then complete a worksheet.

7. Channel One-We are going to watch Channel One news. Afterwards, you are to got to your Social Studies google doc and answer the following questions about the newscast. Remember to use complete sentences, and fully explain your answers.

1. What were the stories on today's newscast?

2. Which story did you find most interesting?

3. What was interesting about this story?

8. Weekly Assignment- You will be placed in groups and given the name of a continent. You will then use your netbooks to find the information needed to answer the following questions. The assignment will be due on Friday. You should put all of your info. into Google presentation.

CONTINENT QUESTIONS:

1. What is the name of your continent?
2. How many countries are in your continent?
3. What is the most populous country in your continent?
4. What is the least populous country in your continent?
5. What is the weather like in your continent?
6. What are some of the different languages spoken in your continent?
7. What are some of the landmarks found in your continent?
8. What are some of your continent's natural resources?
9. How big is your continent compared to the other continents?
10.What are some of the rivers, mountains, deserts, and other geographical features found in your continent?

8/31 Monday

1. Blog Introduction-Take some time to look over the class blog. After you are done, send me an email at jeremynorman@pamlicoschools.org. The subject of your email should be Class Blog. In the email, you should tell me your thoughts about the blog. Also tell me what are some things that you saw on the blog that you would want to do this year. You can also tell me anything that you saw that you do not want to do. 

2. Language Arts Google Doc-We are going to create the google docs we will need for our ELA class. Be sure to follow my instructions.

3. Warm-Up- In your Norman Language Arts Google doc, answer the following question. Be sure to provide lots of good details!


4. Weekly Vocabulary-Click on the link for your Weekly Vocabulary . Take a few minutes to look at your words and get familiar with them.

5. Weekly Vocabulary Assignment-For this week's assignment, you will use your words to create a Vocabulary 3-2-1.
This means that on a piece of paper you will:
Write each word 3 times
Write each definition 2 times
Write 1 sentence using each of your vocab words (meaning you will be writing 10 sentences)

1. People of World War 2- You will be researching various important figures from World War 2.You will answer questions about each day's person in your Social Studies google doc. Make sure to use complete sentences. You will do all research necessary on your own. You must answer the following questions.

1. What was this person's full name?

2. Where and when was this person born?

3. Where and when did this person die?

4. What was their importance to the war?

5. What are 3 interesting facts about this person?

2. NC Write-Head over to NC Write and complete the prompt titled, Social Studies Review.

3. World War 2-We are going to switch it up for our last Social Studies test of the year. You are to look over our WW2 slides, and then on a blank piece of paper, create a 15 question test. You must have at least 3 multiple choice, 3 true or false, and 3 fill in the blank questions.

1. Warm-Up-In your Norman Language Arts Google doc, answer the following question. Make sure to date your post, fully explain your answer, and use complete sentences.


2. EOG Questions-We will look at some questions types you may see on the ELA EOG.

3. Most Dangerous Game-Let's get back to our story. I wonder what the General has been hunting....

4. Outsiders Sequel-One of my favorite things to do when I finish a book is to try and imagine what might happen to the characters after the end of the book. You guys are going to help me do this with The Outsiders. In your Outsiders Google doc, I want you to create a sequel for the Outsiders. Tell me what happens next to our favorite characters. Your sequel must be at least 150 words and must be realistic to the original story.

5. Moby Max-We are going to get in some final EOG prep.
