5/11 Monday

1. Warm-Up-In your Norman Language Arts Google doc, answer the following question. Make sure to date your post, fully explain your answer, and use complete sentences.


2. Review-Today we will be reviewing theme.

3. Reading Passage-The closer we get to the EOG, the more reading passages we will be doing.

4. Weekly Vocabulary-Here are your words for this week. Take a few minutes to scan over them.

5 7x7x7-This week, we will be using our words to create a 7x7x7. This works just like 5x5x5 except you use two more words. Here are the directions:

*Directions: Write each word and its definition seven times. When finished, create a paragraph with at least seven sentences that uses all seven words correctly. Make sure to underline the vocabulary words in your created paragraph.

6. Class Novel-Let's start chapter 7.

7. Channel One-We are going to watch Channel One news. Afterwards, you are to got to your Social Studies google doc and answer the following questions about the newscast. Remember to use complete sentences, and fully explain your answers.

2. Which story did you find most interesting?

3. What was interesting about this story?

8. WW1-We will continue looking at World War 1.

A reporter's main job is to get answers to questions. You are going to spend the next few days researching World War 1. You will then answer, on a blank sheet of paper, the following questions:

WHAT-What was the World War 1? Be sure to fully explain your answers.

WHO-Pick 4 important people from WW1. Tell me who they were and why they were important to WW1.

WHEN-Pick and explain at least 3 important dates from WW1. Explain why the dates you chose are important to WW1.

HOW-Explain in detail how the WW1 started. What happened before that led to this war?

WHY-Why did this war happen? Why was it so important to the world? Why is it still important?

WHERE-What were some of the important locations of WW1?

2. Outsiders-Let's review chapters 1-5.

1. Warm-Up-Creative Writing- Look at the following picture. Write a quick short story about the picture. Be creative! The mood for your story should be sad.




2. Benchmark Review-Today we are going to begin reviewing last week's benchmark.

3. Main Idea-We are going to review Main Idea and Summarizing.

4. Main Idea-Head over to this website and we will practice finding main idea.

5. Class Novel-Today we will review chapters 3 and 4 and we will read chapter 5.

6. Scope-Maybe we can get started on a new article.
