2/28 Friday

1. Free Rice-It's Friday so that means it is Free Rice time. Maybe Mr. Norman will hand out some Cane Bucks. Today, pick your own category!

6.  Black History Month-February is Black History Month. To celebrate, we will look at prominent African Americans and examine their impact on history.

Also, create two E.O.G style questions about the article.

2/26 Wednesday

1. Game Time-GAMES!!!!


2. Weekly Vocabulary- Spend a few minutes watching these "K" letter vocabulary videos.

Your assignment is to create a short story using at least seven of the eight K words correctly. You can add suffixes to the words to make them fit better, but all words used must fit the context of your story. Rewatch some of the videos if necessary to better understand the words. This should be completed on paper. Remember to underline each vocabulary word in your story.

3. NC Write-Let's use those tutorials and lessons located on NC Write to get the highest score we have ever gotten!

4. Poetry Benchmark Review-Let's revisit that poem from the Benchmark.

5. Independent Reading-Grab your library book and relax....it's the return of Independent reading!!!

1. Warm-Up-Creative Writing- Look at the following picture. Write a quick short story about the picture. Be creative and try to include some of your weekly vocabulary words. The mood for your story should be funny.



2. Weekly Vocabulary- Spend a few minutes watching these "K" letter vocabulary videos.

Poem 1-You are to create an Acrostic Poem with the subject being Pamlico.

Poem 2-You are to write either a Cinquain or Haiku about what you wrote on your card yesterday.

Poem 3-You are to pick a type of poem from the links here and here and use this type to write about the subject I will assign. All three poems will be due on Monday Feb. 24. (You can only use a specific poem type once)


5. NC Write-Go to NC Write and complete the prompt titled "Outsiders Review"

5. Poetry Assignment-We will take a few minutes to discuss what we will be doing in class with poetry!

6. Class Novel-Our final quiz is tomorrow! Use this time to read and/or study.

7. Social Studies Warm-up-Study the following painting very closely and then answer the questions in your Social Studies google doc.
