As you can see, I am not with you guys today. However, that does not mean that I do not expect you to behave. You will have a lot to do today, so I would not waste any time goofing off!
1. Free Rice-It's Friday so that means it is Free Rice time. Stick to the vocabulary words today.
2. 5x5x5-Take some time to finish those 5x5x5s. When you are finished, make sure you turn them into the substitute teacher. If you do not turn them in, you will not get a grade.
3. Reading Passage-When you have finished with your 5x5x5s, finish your reading passages from yesterday. They are on my desk and the sub will take them up when you have finished.
4. Reading Book-Grab a red Literature book from the shelf. Read the story Broken Chain, found on pages 44-52. When you have finished reading the story, answer all 10 questions found on page 53. Make sure your answers are in complete sentences. Be sure to turn your work in to the sub.
5. Class Novel-Grab a copy of The Outsiders and get reading. While you are reading, complete 5 Character Ice Cream Cones and 5 Pop-Up Questions in your Reading Notebooks. (An example of a Pop-up question would be "I wonder why Ponyboy acted like that on page 43?") If you find the answer to your questions, go ahead and answer them.
6. History Research-This week you are going to be flexing those research muscles and writing a research paper. You are going to pick one thing that you absolutely love, and then you are going to research that thing. You will need to find out who created your item, when and where it was created and any other important information you can think of. You will then need to take that information and write a 300 word research essay on Google docs.
7. Remediation-If you have work that still needs to be completed then this is the time to do it. If you have finished your work and have turned it in, then sit back, relax, and play some Fitbrains!
