1. Free Rice-Let's see if Free Rice will be more cooperative today!

2. Analyze the Quotes-Read the following quotes. In your Language Arts Google doc, analyze each quote. What do you think the speaker meant? Why do you think this? How does this quote relate to you? Remember to write in complete sentences and to fully explain your answers.

Our dead are never dead to us, until we have forgotten them

No one can confidently say that he will be living tomorrow

Some people are so afraid to die that they never begin to live

3. Class Novel-We are going to take this time to do some independent reading. Quietly reread chapter 1 of our novel. When you finish, add any new ideas you have to column 5 of your reader's notes.

4. Class Novel-Now let's work with our groups.

5. NC Write-We will work more on our prompt.

6. Global Trade-Let's take this time to review our notes.

7. Global Trade Market-This week we will be doing our Global Trade Unit. Here are the directions for your Social Studies Weekly Project:
The class will soon be visited by King Jeremy the First from the country of Normania. He is looking to enter into trade with another continent or empire. You and your group will research your assigned continent or empire and use props to represent the items which your area can trade. Your goal is to entice King Jeremy the First into entering into a trading partnership with your group. Every member of the group will speak, and the trade props must be explained. (Example-What is Silk, and why would King Jeremy need it?) Groups must have and present at least 4 trade items. King Jeremy likes to ask questions so BE PREPARED!

Groups:
Mughal Empire
East Asia
Africa
Ottoman Empire
