1. Warm-Up-In your Norman Language Arts Google doc, answer the following question. Make sure to date your post, fully explain your answer, and use complete sentences.



2. Wordle-It's time again for us to express ourselves. Today we will be using word clouds to create a gallery of words all about you. Many web sites offer word clouds and let's try Wordle first.

Step 1: Go to Wordle

Step 2: Create your word cloud by typing in words that describe you. Do not use your last name anywhere in your Wordle. Be expressive! Press "GO" when finished.

Step 3: Save your wordle to the public gallery, but do not put your last name in the description.

Step 4: Copy (control-c) the embed code at the bottom of the page


Step 5: Paste (control-v) the embed code into an email you will send to me. Your email should have the title "Norman-Wordle"

4. Game Try-out-Take a few minutes to try some of the games on this website. When you are finished, send me an email titled "New Games 1/23" and tell me what your 3 favorite games from the site were.

5. Social Studies Warm-Up-Answer the following question in your Norman Social Studies Google doc. Be sure to fully explain your answer.

What do you think the word enlighten means? Why do you think so? How do you think this word might be used to describe a period of history?


6. Enlightenment-Today we are going to begin looking at the period in history referred to as "The Age of Enlightenment".

7. Enlightenment Reporter-A reporter's main job is to get answers to questions. You are going to spend the next few days researching the Age of Enlightenment. You will then answer, on a blank sheet of paper, the following questions:

WHAT-What was the Age of Enlightenment? Be sure to fully explain your answers.

WHO-Pick 4 important people from the Enlightenment. Tell me who they were and why they were important to the Enlightenment.

WHEN-Pick and explain at least 3 important dates from the Enlightenment. Explain why the dates you chose are important to the Enlightenment.

HOW-Explain in detail how the Enlightenment started. What happened before that led to this movement?

WHY-Why did this movement happen? Why was it so important to the world? Why is it still important?

WHERE-What were some of the important locations of the Enlightenment?
