1. Game Time-It's time to play our games! We have one new game. It is called Word Confusion. Play it first before you move on.

1. Warm-Up-Creative Writing- Look at the following picture. Write a quick short story about the picture. Be creative! The mood for your story should be scary.


2. Weekly Vocab-Continue working on your 5x5x5.

*Directions: Write each word and its definition five times. When finished, create a paragraph with at least five sentences that uses all five words correctly. Make sure to underline the vocabulary words in your created paragraph.

3. Reading Passage-We are going to take this time to work on a reading passage.

4. Persuasive Argument-Go to the following link and read over the persuasive writing prompts. Pick 3 you might like to write on and copy and paste them into an email titled "Persuasive Prompts". Send the email to me and I will pick your prompt for you. 

5. MDG-Keep reading your story.

6. NC Write-Using the prompt that I picked for you, you are to go to NC Write and complete the prompt titled "Norman Persuasive Essay". Your essay should be at least 200 words. 

7. WW1 Review-We are going to take this time to review our notes.

1. Warm-Up-In your Norman Language Arts Google doc, answer the following question. Make sure to date your post, fully explain your answer, and use complete sentences



2. Weekly Vocabulary-We are going to try again to pick our own words from our class story. If Actively Learn is still acting wonky, then we will try something else. Here again are your instructions:

a. Go to Quizlet.com and log-in to your account.

b. Head over to ActivelyLearn and pick 5 challenging words from your story. Make sure your words aren't too easy and are not ones we have already done.

c. On a piece of paper, make a list of your words.

d. Go back to Quizlet and use your words to create a set. (I will walk everyone through this).

e. Use your words to create your Weekly Vocabualry project.

3. Weekly Vocabulary-This week you will be using your words to create a 5x5x5.

4. Persuasive Writing-We are going to begin looking at persuasive writing. Good persuasive writing can be hard to do but gets easier with practice. Remember...your goal is to PERSUADE somebody! 

5. Persuasive Writing Tips-Go to the the websites here and here and read the tips they contain on persuasive writing. Then send me an email titled "Persuasive Writing." In that email you should tell me as much as you can about persuasive writing. I should be able to tell that you understand the subject. 

6. Most Dangerous Game-Let's finally get back to reading.

1. Article Review-Read the following article. After reading, write a quick review of the article in your Norman Language Arts Google doc. Your review should answer the following questions:

-What was the article's main idea?

-What text structure did the article use?

-Write a brief summary of the idea.

2. Analyze the Quotes-Read the following quotes. In your Language Arts Google doc, analyze each quote. What do you think the speaker meant? Why do you think this? How does this quote relate to you?  Remember to write in complete sentences and to fully explain your answers.

WELCOME BACK!!!!

We've only got a couple of months left of school! Let's make them awesome...

1. ELA Warm-up Writing-In your Language Arts Google doc, answer the following question. Be sure to provide details and use complete sentences.

What are 5 memorable things that happened during your Easter Break? These do not have to be all good things. Give me your list and explain what made them memorable.

2. Weekly Vocabulary-You are to pick 7 words from our class story (Most Dangerous Game) to be your weekly vocabulary words. Now you can't complain about the definitions being too long! Follow these steps:
a. Go to Quizlet.com and create an account.

b. Head over to ActivelyLearn and pick 7 challenging words from your story. Make sure your words aren't too easy and are not ones we have already done.

c. On a piece of paper, make a list of your words.

d. Go back to Quizlet and use your words to create a set. (I will walk everyone through this).

6. Origins of Easter-We are going to use the following links to learn more about the origins of Easter. Once you have visited each link, send me an email titled, "Easter"  and list 15 facts you learned from the sites.
