2/12 Monday
1. Warm-up Creative Write-Look at the picture, write a story in your ELA google doc. Your story needs to be fiction and written in third person. Your mood needs to be lovey-dovey!!!
2. Weekly Vocabulary-Another week, another set of words. Here they are. Look them over.
3. Learning Farm-Log on and wait.
4. Channel One-We are going to watch Channel One news. Afterwards, you are to got to your Social Studies google doc and answer the following questions about the newscast. Remember to use complete sentences, and fully explain your answers.
1. What were the stories on today's newscast?
2. Explain how each story might impact your life.
5. Black History Month-February is Black History Month. To celebrate, we will look at prominent African Americans and examine their impact on history.
Today we will look at Langston Hughes. Go to each of the links here, here and here and use the information to answer the following questions in your Google doc titled "Black History Month". Answer each question using complete sentences.
1. What is this person's full name?
2. When was this person born? Where were they born? Are they still alive?
3. Why were they so important?
4. What are some interesting facts about this person?
6. Absolute Monarchy-Now that we are done with our notes, it is your turn to do some research. You are to pick an absolute monarch (from the list below) and with a group of 2 or 3, create a google slide show that answers the following questions about your monarch.
-What country did your monarch rule?
-Who was ruler before and after them?
-How long did they rule?
-How did their reign end?
-What wars were fought during their reign of power?
-How were they an absolute monarch?
Your slide show must be at least 6 slides long, contain proper grammar, be factually accurate, and have some pictures.
