2/22 Monday

1. Warm-Up-In your Norman Language Arts Google doc, answer the following question. Make sure to date your post, fully explain your answer, and use complete sentences.


2. Weekly Vocabulary Words-Your words for the week are dismal, dispel, eavesdrop, egregious, ember, emerge, engross, exasperation, exhilarate, falter. You are responsible for finding the words' defintions on Quizlet's list of 100 words every middle schooler should know.

3. 10x10x10-This week, we will be using our words to create a 10x10x10. This works just like 5x5x5 except you use 5 more words. Here are the directions:

*Directions: Write each word and its definition 10 times. When finished, create a paragraph with at least ten sentences that uses all ten words correctly. Make sure to underline the vocabulary words in your created paragraph.

4. Most Dangerous Game-Grab your reading notebook and wait for instructions.

5. Channel One-We are going to watch Channel One news. Afterwards, you are to go to your Social Studies google doc and answer the following questions about the newscast. Remember to use complete sentences, and fully explain your answers.

1. What were the stories on today's newscast?

2. Which story did you find most interesting?

3. What was interesting about this story?

6. Black History Month-February is Black History Month. To celebrate, we will look at prominent African Americans and examine their impact on history.

Today we will look at Aretha Franklin. Go to each of the links here and here and use the information to answer the following questions in a new Google doc titled "Black History Month". Answer each question using complete sentences.

1. Who was this person?

2. When and where did they live?

3. Why were they so important?

4. What are 5 interesting facts about this person?

5. Was this person married and did they have any children?
