1. Free Rice Friday- Free Rice time! You can choose your category.

2. Learning Farm-Practice makes perfect. Work on the Summarizing Informational Texts

3. Homophones-You are to use your by, bye, buy homophones to create sentences. You need to create 4 sentences for each word. Each sentence should use the word correctly. You will be creating a total of 12 sentences.

4. NC Write-It's time for our last NC Write of the year!. Head over and complete the prompt titled 7th Grade Review.

5. Hunting Discussion - Is all Hunting ethical?

Look at the following links about hunting. On a piece of paper, tell me what you think about hunting. Do you think that it is ethical? Did any of the links change your mind? If you disagree with the opinions found in  the links, tell me why.

6. WW2-Head over to the Wikipedia entry on WW2 battles. Take some time to review the battles. When you have finished reading, pick 6 battles that you thought were the most interesting/important. On a sheet of paper, put the details of each of your six battles in your own words. Who fought in the battle? When and where was it fought? What was its significance?

2. Weekly Vocabulary Words-Your words for the week are dismal, dispel, eavesdrop, egregious, ember, emerge, engross, exasperation, exhilarate, falter. You are responsible for finding the words' defintions on Quizlet's list of 100 words every middle schooler should know.

3. Weekly Vocabulary Project-Use your words to create a 3-2-1.
Write each word 3 times
Write each word and definition 2 times
Write 1 sentence using each of your vocab words (make sure you underline the vocabulary word)


4. StoryBird-We are going to use the website Storybird to create a short fictional story. This should be fun and interesting! Your story should contain a plot, a setting, have conflict, and have dialogue between characters. Head over and take a look at the Storybird explanation. This has a good overview of the tool.

3. Compare and Contrast-Continue working on your Three Little Pigs Venn Diagram. In case you forgot, here are the directions again:

We are going to practice our comparing and contrasting skills! First, read THREE LITTLE PIGS FABLE. Next, read the wolf's version, the so-called TRUE STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE PIGS. When you have finished both, you will create a Venn Diagram which compares and contrasts the two stories. For an example, look at this VENN DIAGRAM. Complete your Venn Diagram on paper, filling in your circles with as many good details as possible.

4. Most Dangerous Game Map-Keep working on those maps.

5. Great Depression Survivors- It is fascinating to hear people who lived through the Depression discuss what it was really like. Watch the following video. It may give you some inspiration for your Weekly Assignment.



6. Great Depression Weekly Project-For this assignment, you are going to try your best to get into the minds of the people who experienced the Great Depression. You will pick 5 pictures from the following 8. They are all pictures of people from the Great Depression. Once you have picked your 5 pictures, you are to create a Google doc titled "Great Depression Project." You are going to write (at least 7 sentences each) 5 stories based on the pictures you have chosen. Each story needs to be written in First Person. You can create your story in any way that you see fit but they must be tied to the Great Depression and be school appropriate. In your doc, paste your photo and then write your story. Do this for each picture and story. Here is the link for the pictures.

You are going to create a map of Ship-Trap Island. You can find the story here. Your map should be creative, colorful, and contain important places from the story. Your map must have at least 6 spots marked on them and each spot must correspond with something from the book. You must also reference the spot in the story where your places are mentioned. This will need to be written on the back of the map.
