1. Article Review-Read the following article . After reading, write a quick review of the article in your Language Arts Google doc. Your review should answer the following questions:
-What was the topic of the article?

-What was the article's main idea? Supporting details?

-What was one thing about the article that you found fascinating? Explain your answer.

-If you were to rename this article, what name would you choose and why?

2. Weekly Vocabulary-Use this time to work on your 3-2-1s. If you are finished, study for your quiz. If you are finished studying, study some more!

3. Judge a Book by its Cover-Below is the cover to our new class story. A cover is a very good way to try and determine what a book or story may be about. Using the cover below, make a list on a blank sheet of paper of images and details you see on the cover. What do these images tell you about our story. Finally, based on the images and details on the cover, make predictions about our new story.


4. Reading Passage-It is time to get back to sharpening our reading skills. Time to "SQUASH" another reading passage!

5. NC Write-You are to complete the NC Write prompt entitled 2015 Review. Your essay should be at least 150 words long.

6. Channel One-We are going to watch Channel One news. Afterwards, you are to got to your Social Studies google doc and answer the following questions about the newscast. Remember to use complete sentences, and fully explain your answers.

1. What were the stories on today's newscast?

2. Which story did you find most interesting?

3. What was interesting about this story?

7. African Slave Trade - Go to the following links and read more about the Slave Trade. As you are reading, you need to create a fact sheet containing 15 facts you learned from the 3 sites. You must have at least 2 facts from each site.
