This is a picture of a slave who endured unimaginable pain and hardship in his life. I want you to write about how this picture makes you feel.

After gaining their freedom, many former slaves told the story of their lives to various interviewers. These accounts were then written down and many were published. The following link will take you to 2 slave narratives. You should be able to tell why I chose the narratives that I did. Read them silently and we will dicuss when you have finished.
